Men's Tennis Clinches Narrow 4-3 NESCAC Win Over Middlebury

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's tennis team won a pivotal 4-3 matchup over visiting Middlebury on Saturday afternoon.
 
The #6 Polar Bears are 10-1 (4-1 NESCAC) while the #7 Panthers are 7-5 (3-2 NESCAC).
 
Match Highlights
  • Bowdoin earned the doubles point after winning at #2 and #3. Mark Kneiss and Jackson Codd finished off a 6-4 win at #2. At #3, Aden Dorros and Mick Tamas battled for a 7-5 victory.
  • The Polar Bears won singles matches at #2, #4, and #6.
  • Middlebury tied the match at 1-1 before Cameron Zia regained the lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #4.
  • The Panthers then took the lead with two more wins to make it 3-2, Middlebury.
  • Kiran Garapati battled to a three-set win (7-6, 0-6, 6-4) and Pieter Breuker clinched the match at #2. After dropping the first set 0-6, Breuker put up a pair of 6-4 sets.
