BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin's
Lauren Burke scored the game-winning goal with 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, lifting the Polar Bears to a Senior Day win on Saturday over Williams, 9-8.
The Polar Bears, who rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit, improve to 6-6 (2-6 NESCAC) while the Ephs fall to 6-6 (3-5 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- In a back-and-forth contest through cold and rainy conditions, neither team could take control of the match as goals were exchanged throughout the day.
- Williams took a 3-1 lead out of the gate, but a 3-0 run by Bowdoin, courtesy of goals from Molly Reed, Mara Muse, and Lauren Burke gained the lead for the Polar Bears midway through the second quarter.
- The Ephs got one back before halftime to knot the score at the break, and then used a 3-1 surge late in the third period to take a 7-6 lead heading into the final quarter of play.

- A Williams foul gave Burke a free position shot with 1:33 to go, and the senior deposited the go-ahead goal.
