Panthers Remain Unbeaten With Women's Lacrosse Win Over Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The top-ranked Middlebury women's lacrosse team handed Bowdoin a 16-3 setback on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Panthers remain perfect at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Polar Bears drop to 1-2 (1-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin held the Panthers off the board through the first eight minutes of action and allowed just three goals in the first quarter.
  • Grace Harvey scored the first goal of the second quarter at 12:25 to make it 3-1.
  • The Panthers went on a 5-0 run to close out the second and take an 8-1 lead into halftime.
  • Middlebury put up five more unanswered third quarter goals to send the game into running time.
  • Bowdoin allowed two more fourth quarter tallies before Lauren Burke and Miya Imaeda bookended one last Middlebury goal.

  • Hope Shue had a six goal, two assist game to lead Middlebury.
  • Kate Min and Katie Athanasoulas each recorded three caused turnovers.
  • Middlebury owned a 17-5 draw control advantage, but the Polar Bears snapped up 18 ground balls to Middlebury's 10.
  • Hannah Rubin made four stops for the Polar Bears.
  • Gina Driscoll made six saves in 37 minutes and Elizabeth Savage had four.
