Men's Lacrosse Storms Past Hamilton On Friday Afternoon

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Patrick Fitzgerald exploded for seven goals as the Bowdoin men's lacrosse attack came alive in the second half to post a 13-5 win over Hamilton on Friday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 8-1 and 4-1 in NESCAC play, while the Continentals are 3-5 (1-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Hamilton scored first on a man-up goal early in the first quarter and Huck Trafton responded for the Polar Bears. The teams played ten minutes of back-and-forth scoreless lacrosse to end the frame tied 1-1.
  • Bowdoin began to find its offensive footing with three goals in the final five minutes of the second quarter.
  • Jed Hoggard scored off the faceoff to begin the third as the two teams proceeded to trade tallies, making it 6-3.
  • Jason Lach scored his first of the game and Fitzgerald recorded numbers two and three to close out the frame.
  • Hamilton scored first in the fourth, but Fitzgerald scored four straight goals to push the game out of reach. The Continentals got one back in the final 2:15.

  • Fitzgerald scored seven goals, one shy of tying the program record for goals in a game.
  • Chris Berry scored a pair.
  • Lach dished out three assists and Trafton had two. Both players also recorded a goal.
