Men's Lacrosse Served First Loss of the Season At Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season in a 12-8 setback to Amherst on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 6-1 (3-1 NESCAC) and the Mammoths remain perfect at 6-0 (4-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Amherst scored the game's first goal but Bowdoin responded with four first period goals to make it 4-1 after 15 minutes of action.
  • The Mammoths scored two quick goals to begin the second before a Michael Norton's second goal of the game made it 5-3. The teams traded tallies to close out the half.
  • Amherst took the lead with a dominant third quarter where the Mammoths recorded five unanswered goals to go ahead 9-6.
  • Casey Ryan scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter only to have Amherst close out the game with three more scores.

  • The Polar Bears recorded nine caused turnovers and 20 ground balls.
