Polar Bears Sweep Plattsburgh On Tuesday Afternoon

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Bowdoin baseball team swept Plattsburgh with 6-4 and 4-1 wins to remain perfect on Tuesday.
 
The Polar Bears are 11-0 and drop Plattsburgh to 4-5.
 
Game One Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored a pair of runs in the first inning off a double by Kevin Murray and Liam Foley sacrifice fly.
  • The Polar Bears extended their lead even further in the fourth. Cal Thompson and Will Bordes both had RBI singles. Rueben Siegel tagged an RBI triple and Murray added a one-run double.
  • Plattsburgh scored four in the last inning but could not complete the comeback.
  • Bordes went 4-for-4 and Murray was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
  • Jackson Melendy went six innings with three hits and five strikeouts.
  • Alex Saavedra earned the save after the Polar Bears got into trouble late in the seventh.
 
Game Two Highlights
  • Murray's extra-base hitting continued with an RBI double in the first. Finn Cahill drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0 and Will Cooke tagged an RBI single.
  • Plattsburgh found a run in the top of the third.
  • Cooke recorded another RBI with a sacrifice fly to center in the sixth inning.
  • Bowdoin's pitching staff allowed six hits with four strikeouts.
