Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Bowdoin softball team suffered a pair of low-scoring losses to begin spring break play down in Florida on Tuesday.
 
The Polar Bears (2-2) dropped a 4-2 game to Transylvania (7-2) and had a 1-0 setback to Gettysburg (8-2).
 
Game One Highlights

• Bowdoin went up 1-0 in the bottom of the first with an Anika Ewert steal home.
• The Pioneers capitalized on an error to take a 2-0 lead in the second inning and added another run on a ground ball single.
• Katie Mewes had her second hit and second RBI of the game with a single to center in the fourth.
• Liv Barrett tagged a double on the ground to left in the seventh inning, plating Chloe Garcia, but the Polar Bears could not extend the rally.
• Bowdoin's batters combined for five hits and Ewert had two stolen bases.
• Maddie Current went six innings with five hits allowed and one earned run. Current fanned five batters.

 
Game Two Highlights

• The Polar Bears struggled to get their offense moving against the Bullets. Bowdoin pushed a runner to second in only the first and second innings.
• Gettysburg's lone run came off an RBI single up the middle in the fourth inning after a leadoff walk, wild pitch, and long flyout moved the runner to third.
• Ewert went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.
• Rosie Panenka chopped a single to shortstop in the second.
• Kathleen Hester scattered three hits over seven innings and struck out six batters.
