Trinity Sinks Bowdoin in Women's Lacrosse Opener

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Trinity College women's lacrosse team defeated Bowdoin in both team's season openers on Saturday at Ryan Field, 14-5. The Bantams stand at 1-0 (1-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 0-1 (0-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • After Bowdoin's Molly Reed opened the scoring at 13:14 of the opening quarter, Trinity scored three straight to open up a 3-1 edge after one quarter of action.
  • Again, Bowdoin opened the scoring in the second period as Ellie Fabbro found the back of the net, but Trinity answered with five straight to end the half and five more to start the third frame, putting the game out of reach.
By The Numbers
  • Miya Imaeda, Grace Harvey also scored for Bowdoin in addition to Fabbro and Reid.
  • Sophie Brett made four saves in 26:05 before giving way to Hannah Rubin, who stopped eight shots over the final 33:55.
  • Kelsey Restivo led all players with six points (5G, 1A) for Trinity.
