Men's Hockey Successful Shootout Streak Continues At Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team picked up its third shootout victory in the last four games after skating to a 1-1 tie at Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 8-9-3 with a 6-5-3 NESCAC record. All three of Bowdoin's ties tipped the Polar Bears way in shootouts. The Mammoths are 8-10-2 (5-7-2 NESCAC.
 
Game Highlights
  • Aidan Lyons scored for Bowdoin just 1:17 into the game. Lyons took a pass from Jack Barbro down the left side boards and into the zone. Lyons snapped a shot top-shelf to give Bowdoin the lead.
  • Amherst converted on the power play with 4:43 remaining in the second period. Josh Burke took a shot from the top of the zone and the rebound kicked left to Bobby Luca. Luca cleaned up the puck to make it 1-1.
  • Jacob Osborne allowed his first shootout goal of the season to Amherst's Josh Burke but denied the next three chances. Gabe Shipper answered Burke's conversion to lead off the Polar Bears and Jack Moore ended it with a shot that snuck through five-hole.
