Men's Hockey Topples Trinity 3-1 On Friday Night

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team continued its hot streak after knocking off nationally-ranked Trinity 3-1 on Friday night.
The Polar Bears continue to collect points in NESCAC play with a 9-9-3 (7-5-3 NESCAC) record. The Bantams are 14-6-1 (10-4-1 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • Jack Barbro gave Bowdoin the lead eight minutes into the second period during four-on-four play. Mattie Wierl carried the puck up along the left boards from the Bowdoin zone into Trinity territory. Wierl passed cross-ice to Barbro who finished with a wrister to the near right post.
  • Two minutes later, Bowdoin made it 2-0. James Cerekpak started the play with a pass from Bowdoin's blue line to Barbro at center ice. The zig-zag pass pattern continued up to Michael Dinges at the top of Trinity's zone on the left. Dinges carried in and lasered a shot past Devon Bobak.
  • Trinity cut the lead in half with a goal at 8:20. Spencer Korona put a shot off pads and the rebound bounced off Richard Boysen and past Jacob Osborne.
  • Will Killoran iced the game with an empty-netter with under a minute to play.
 
By the Numbers
  • Osborne made 31 saves in the win.
  • Bobak stopped 17 shots for Trinity.
  • Bowdoin held a slight 30-25 edge in faceoffs.
  • Trinity went 0-for-2 on the power play.
