Women's Basketball Dominates in Friday Night Win Over Middlebury

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team held Middlebury to a season-low in points in a dominating 64-38 win on Friday evening in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears, ranked fourth in the latest Division III poll, improve to 21-0 (7-0 NESCAC) while the Panthers drop their third straight game and fall to 14-7 (4-3 NESCAC).

  • The Polar Bears wasted little time putting the Panthers away, scoring the first eight points of the game and taking a 21-5 lead after one quarter of play.
  • Bowdoin continued to roll in the second period, extending its lead to 35-12 at the break thanks to a suffocating defensive effort that held Middlebury to 16% shooting in the opening twenty minutes.
  • Bowdoin cruised in the second half, pushing their lead to as many as 28 points as Middlebury could get no closer than 17.
