NEW LONDON, Conn. – Despite a 2-1 loss at Connecticut College the Bowdoin men's ice hockey team clinched a home quarterfinal for the playoffs.
The Polar Bears have 27 points in NESCAC play, off a 9-11-3 (7-7-3 NESCAC) record. The Camels (9-13-1, 7-10-0) have 21 points and look to cement their spot in the post-season tomorrow against Colby.
Game Highlights
- The Camels scored on the power play with 4:04 remaining in the period to take a 1-0 lead. Will Winship put a shot on pads from the left side, and the rebound bounced out to Steven Ardagna. Ardagna passed across the crease to John Russo for a backhander.
- Just seconds into the third period, Bowdoin tied the game. The puck bounced from the neutral zone back into Connecticut College territory, and Jack Moore jumped on the opportunity. Moore skated in for a one-on-goal.
- The Camels responded quickly with a goal at 1:01. Matt Lewis fired a shot from the left side and Kennedy tipped the puck in front.
