Women's Hockey Earns 2-1 Win at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team salvaged a 2-1 win and series split at Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears head home with a 14-7-0 (8-6-0 NESCAC). The Camels have finished conference play and sit at 10-11-1 (6-9-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
  • Jane McCarter put Bowdoin on the board midway through the first period. McCarter drifted from the left circle into the high slot and fired through traffic to make it 1-0.
  • Connecticut College found an equalizer at 9:55 in the third period. Sofia Donnelly fired a shot from the right point that Claire Sammons deflected from in front of the crease.
  • Bowdoin regained the lead off a Gia Massari goal with 4:32 remaining in the game. Massari's shot from the low side of the right circle found net.

  • The Camels held a narrow 18-17 edge in faceoff wins.
