Mammoths Sweep Polar Bears In Women's Hockey

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's hockey team suffered its first shutout sweep of the season in its second straight 3-0 loss to Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears will return home after a three-week road schedule with a 13-4-0 (7-3-0 NESCAC) record. The Mammoths are 14-3-1 and 7-2-1 in conference play.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin's Sarah Peterson put together nine saves in the first period to keep the Mammoths off the board.
  • Amherst broke through about six minutes into the second period as Bea Flynn finished off play from Alyssa Xu and Maeve Reynolds.
  • Gretchen Dann joined Reynolds in setting up Xu for the Mammoths' second goal of the period to go ahead 2-0.
  • Reynolds tallied an empty-netter in the final minute to cap the game.
