BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team suffered its first loss of the season, despite a last-minute rally, falling 3-2 to Colby on Saturday evening.
The Polar Bears are 3-1-0 with a matching NESCAC record. The Mules are 1-1-0 (1-1-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Colby broke through with a power play goal midway through the first period. Jo Tattersall was on the right point and put the puck off the back boards. Courtney Schumacher was on the far post and tucked a shot inside to make it 1-0.
- Schumacher doubled Colby's lead at 12:44 in the third period after stripping a defender along the left side and skating center for a quick wrister.
- Breanna Studley set up the final Colby goal two minutes later. Studley skated down the right side and sent a centering pass to Megan Martodam for a finish in front of the net.
- Bowdoin scored two goals in the final three minutes to make it a 3-2 game. Maddie Wojciak collected the puck at the top of the Colby zone and skated into the near left circle, putting a shot top left shelf.
- Meghan Britt scored the second, banking a shot off the goalie from beyond the goal line.

- The Mules were 1-for-4 on the power play and Bowdoin went 0-for-5.
- Colby controlled the faceoff dot with a 39-22 advantage.
- Abby Matusovich made 29 stops in the setback.
