Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men's Hockey Beats Colby 3-2 In Waterville

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team came away with a 3-2 win in over Colby in the 224th meeting of the two programs.
 
The Polar Bears are 3-0-0 (3-0-0 NESCAC) and hand the Mules (2-1-0, 2-1-0 NESCAC) their first loss of the season.
 
Game Highlights
  • Colby went ahead 1-0 with a goal by Colby Browne midway through the first period.
  • The lead held for over 20 minutes until Bowdoin's Justin Wright tied the game with a power play tally at 10:45 in the second. Gabe Shipper cycled the puck to Isaac Abbott, who recorded the assist on Wright's goal.
  • The Mules regained the lead 7:38 into the third on a power play goal, only to see Bowdoin tie the game two minutes later. Louie Marcellino scored his second collegiate goal with a helper from J.J. Lemieux.
  • Jake Minella came up with the late-game heroics, scoring with 2:52 remaining in regulation to hand Bowdoin the win with his first goal in a Bowdoin uniform.

  • Bowdoin went 1-for-3 on the power play and Colby was 1-for-2.
  • Colby controlled 41 faceoffs to Bowdoin's 27.
  • Cooper Rautenstrauch stopped 30 shots for the Mules.
