HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin College volleyball team completed a perfect weekend in Connecticut, sweeping Trinity 3-0 in their regular season finale Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears (14-9, 6-4 NESCAC) earn the fifth seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will travel to play at Tufts in the quarterfinals next Saturday.
 
Match Highlights

• Bowdoin earned the win by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-23.
• Despite the sweep, the Polar Bears had to battle to the end to win all three sets. Up big in the first set (22-14), the Bantams closed to within 22-19, only to have Bowdoin the Polar Bears close on a 3-1 run to take a 1-0 lead.
• The second set was tied at 18 apiece before a 4-0 Bowdoin run, sparked by kills from Gillian Coolidge and Alison Smith, gave the Polar Bears some breathing room on their way to a 2-0 edge.
• The third set was tied a 19-19 but Bowdoin prevailed thanks to timely kills from Coolidge and Hannah Woolley down the stretch to earn the 25-23 win and complete the sweep.

By The Numbers

• Alison Smith paced Bowdoin's offense with 14 kills while Zoe Ryu had 12 to go with eight digs.
• Hannah Woolley added seven kills and three blocks while Anna Yeh pitched in 14 digs and three service aces.
• Cameron Shelly recorded 35 assists and 11 digs while Skye LaMendola had five kills and 12 digs.
