Volleyball Sprints Past Conn College in Friday Night Win

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College volleyball team easily dismissed Connecticut College in a 3-0 win on Friday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 13-9 (5-4 NESCAC) with the win while the Camels fall to 12-9 (3-6 NESCAC). 

Match Highlights
  • The Polar Bears wasted little time, taking just over an hour to complete the 25-15, 25-19, 25-10 win. 
  • Bowdoin scored the first five points of the match and committed just one hitting error en route to a first set win. 
  • The second set was the closest of the evening, as the Camels were within striking distance late, but Bowdoin won three of the final four points to take a 2-0 lead. 
  • The Polar Bears actually trailed 4-3 in the third set, but outscored Conn College 22-6 the rest of the way to cap the evening. 
By The Numbers
  • Bowdoin committed just seven errors over the three sets, while Conn College posted 24 errors. The Polar Bears had 12 aces as a team. 
  • Zoe Ryu had seven kills, three blocks, and three aces while Hannah Wooley posted a team-best seven blocks with three aces.
  • Alison Smith had nine kills and Skye LaMendola added seven. 
  • Anna Yeh led Bowdoin with ten digs while Cameron Shelly had 22 assists.
