LAST WEEK
The Polar Bears suffered a 45-3 setback to first-place Trinity at Whittier Field last week. Bates traveled to Middlebury and dropped a 34-16 contest to the Panthers.

LAST MEETING
Last year at Bates, first-year quarterback Peter Macauley tied a school record with five touchdown passes as the Polar Bears earned their first win in Lewiston since 2007, defeating Bates 35-24. Bobcat running back Ryan Lynskey set a NESCAC record with 344 yards rushing in the loss.

CBB UPDATE
Colby earned a 13-6 overtime win at Bates early in October to claim the first leg of the CBB race. The Mules, who currently hold the crown, will host Bowdoin next Saturday in Waterville. The best Bates can hope for is a three-way tie, which last occurred in 2022. Bates has not won the title since 2017. Bowdoin last won the CBB in 2023 and owns a rivalry-best 20 titles while Colby has 18 and Bates owns 14 with six three-way ties and one joint-title in 1993.

BOWDOIN vs. BATES – ALL-TIME
In the tenth-longest rivalry in Division III football history, the teams have played 126 times dating back to 1889 (a 62-0 Bowdoin win). The Polar Bears hold a 69-50-7 edge in the all-time series and have won back-to-back games for the first time since claiming five straight between 2004-2008.
