Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Beats Amherst 1-0 On Saturday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Max Cook scored his first collegiate goal to lift the Bowdoin men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Amherst on Saturday.
 
The Polar Bears are 10-2-2 and 5-2-2 in conference play. The Mammoths leave Brunswick with a 7-4-2 (3-4-2 NESCAC) record.
 
Game Highlights
  • The two teams battled through the midfield for the majority of the first half, with both sides managing just one shot in the first 45 minutes.
  • Cook scored the game's lone goal in the 68th minute. Tyler Huck picked off a pass in Bowdoin's own defensive end and sprinted down the right side of the field, catching Amherst in transition. Kamar Burris-Khan raced down the middle and two-touch redirected Huck's cross over to Cook on the left wing. Cook was wide open for a clean goal.

  • Both teams had matching shot lines with one in the first half and five in the second. Both squads put a pair of shots on net,
  • Amherst took six corner kicks and allowed four.
