Men's Soccer Blanks Gulls In Sunday Showdown

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's soccer team scored three unanswered goals and recorded a shutout in its final non-conference game of the season at Endicott on Sunday.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 9-2-2 and drop the Gulls to 6-7-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears broke through with 1:44 remaining in the first half. Tyler Banks got the play started with a corner kick from the right side, putting the ball to the back post. Jack Banks headed the ball back up toward the top of the box where Liam Myers headed the ball again to the right post.
  • Bowdoin scored the second header goal of the game in the 52nd minute. Alden Mehta sent a perfect ball into the box from the left side of the midfield. Huck connected with the ball as it came through for a header that skipped off his head and into the goal.
  • Felipe Rueda Duran converted on a penalty kick in the final two minutes to make it 3-0.
 
By the Numbers
  • Huck scored his 30th career goal as a Polar Bear and became just the fifth player in program history to reach that number. Huck also moved into fourth all-time for career points.
  • Alex Ainsworth made three saves for the shutout.
  • Brady O'Toole made four saves.
  • Bowdoin held a 21-5 edge in shots and 8-3 shots on goal advantage.
  • The Polar Bears offensive domination also led to 10 corner kicks while allowing only one.
