Women's Soccer Earns 2-0 Shutout At Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to defeat host Wesleyan 2-0 on Saturday.
 
The Polar Bears are 9-3-0 with a 4-3-0 NESCAC record. The Cardinals are 7-3-3 (2-3-3 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Jackie Shores put Bowdoin on the board 3:50 into the second half. Mary Rainey set up the play with a cross from the right endline to the back post. Shores made quick work of the feed with a header.
  • Kayley Hulueatt gave Bowdoin a little breathing room with a free kick goal in the 85th minute.
 
By the Numbers
  • Wesleyan held a commanding 25-14 edge in shots overall and narrow 11-9 shots on goal advantage.
  • Charlotte Iannone had a critical 11 save performance to earn the shutout and win.
