Field Hockey Blanked By Babson In 1-0 Setback

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Bowdoin field hockey team saw its four-game win streak come to an end in a 1-0 loss at Babson on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears are 9-3 while the Beavers are 13-1.

Game Highlights
  • The best chance for the Polar Bears came in the 23rd minute off Mackay Bommer's stick. The senior got free in front of the net and reversed a shot on goal, but Madison Tibbals made the save.
  • Babson knocked on the door in the third quarter, with Bowdoin's defense stopping a pair of shots and Lauren O'Donald making a save.
  • The Beavers broke through in the first minutes of the final frame. Sanna van der Goes sent a ball in from outside the circle and off the pads of O'Donald. Caroline DiGiovanni quickly put away the rebound.
 
By the Numbers
  • Babson held a 9-2 edge in shots and 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
  • O'Donald made three saves and Tibbals stopped one shot.
  • The Polar Bears earned just one corner and allowed only four.
