BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer secured a 1-0 victory over Trinity on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 8-3-0 (3-3-0 NESCAC), while dropping the Bantams to 5-4-2 (1-4-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Bowdoin nearly went up 1-0 early in the first half as Kayley Huleatt drove deep to the end line. Huleatt drew the goalie and had an open low-angle look on net, but watched as a defender blocked her pass attempt to the center.
• The Polar Bears broke through in the 61^st minute. Jackie Shores controlled the ball through the middle of the field and passed right to Mary Rainey. Rainey made two steps to get her defender off balance and sent a low shot past Lily Bracken.

 
By the Numbers

• Trinity held a slight 13-10 edge in shots but an impressive 9-2 edge in shots on goal.
• Charlotte Iannone made nine saves for the shutout.
• Backen made one stop for Trinity.
• Bowdoin lined up seven corner kicks and allowed three.
