Polar Bears Roar Past Lions In 2-1 Victory

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer team overcame an early one goal deficit to pin a 2-1 setback on visiting Emerson on Wednesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 5-3-0 on the season and drop the Lions to 4-3-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • Zoe Simmons put Emerson on the board with just 2:10 expired in the game. Simmons carried the ball to the top right side of the box and booted a left footed shot to the corner. Charlotte Iannone dove to deny the bid, but the ball lofted beyond her reach.
  • Bowdoin scored in the final minute of the first half to tie the game. Kendall Hacker launched a feed from the left toward the center. Kayley Huleatt connected and toed the ball past Hailey Forman.
  • Kyra Hacker scored the game winner midway through the second half. Huleatt put a free kick off Forman's hands and Hacker buried the rebound.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin put 14 shots on net and allowed four.
  • Forman made 12 saves for Emerson as Iannone made three.
  • Bowdoin lined up five corner kicks and did not allow a single opportunity for Emerson.
