Women's Soccer Upsets Middlebury For Big NESCAC Win

Box Score MIDDLEBURY, VT. – The Bowdoin women's soccer team stunned 9th-ranked Middlebury 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in Vermont.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 6-3-0 and 2-3-0 in conference play. The Panthers suffered the first loss of the season at 7-1-2 (3-1-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Kayley Huleatt put Bowdoin up 1-0 in the 18th minute. Huleatt launched a bending free kick that buried in the upper-right corner.
  • Jackie Shores doubled the lead in the 68th minute. The ball came into the box from deep in Middlebury territory and deflected off a defender.
  • Middlebury broke through ten minutes later. Stella Espinasse set up Roshann Prucell for a header as she charged into the box.
 
By the Numbers
  • Charlotte Iannone made eight saves in net for the Polar Bears to ensure the two goal lead stood up.
  • Livia Davidson made one stop for the Panthers.
  • Middlebury held a narrow 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
