BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's squash team cruised to a pair of wins and almost knocked off 17
th-ranked Amherst in a busy week of action to open 2025. The 24
th-ranked Polar Bears stand at 4-2 this season with this week's results.
Match Highlights
- The Polar Bears opened the New Year with a win over 29th-ranked Conn College (8-1) on Monday before knocking off 27th-ranked Wesleyan (9-0) on Tuesday. Bowdoin almost completed the perfect week but came up just short against Amherst in a 5-4 loss.
- Bowdoin got a quintet of 3-0 wins against the Camels, as Nick Wilkinson, William Maschler, Luciano Agudelo, Joseph French, and Sachith Vissapragada posted shutouts. Jack Winston earned a 3-1 win at number one and Abhiroop Reddy claimed a 3-1 triumph at number six while Fotis Zafiriou wrapped up the victory with a 3-2 victory at number three.
- The Polar Bears posted shutouts at seven of nine spots against the Cardinals, as Winston, Aryan Singh, Zafiriou, Wilkinson, Reddy, French, and Ben Cossrow blanked their opponents. Agudelo and Vissapragada rounded out the day with a pair of 3-1 wins.
- In the closest match of the week, Bowdoin went toe-to-toe against Amherst in the eventual 5-4 setback, getting wins from Winston (3-0), Wilkinson (3-1), Reddy (3-2), and Vissapragada (3-1). French, Reddy, and Singh also battled hard in five-game losses.
