Women's Hockey Surrenders First Loss of the Season To Endicott

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team saw its perfect record end as Endicott pinned a 5-3 setback on the Polar Bears on Tuesday evening.

The Polar Bears are 10-1-0 on the season. The Gulls are 10-4-0.

Game Highlights
  • The Gulls scored two quick goals five minutes into the first period to jump out to a 2-0 lead. After a series of shots and saves, Rivers Morris broke through first, resulting in a rebound that finally kicked to the far side. Morris jumped on the open-angle opportunity.
  • Teaghan Hall scored the second Endicott goal 19 seconds later, sneaking the puck through pads and barely across the goal line.
  • Endicott stretched its lead to three at 1:05 in the second and added another at the eight minute mark. Morris intercepted a Bowdoin pass at the top of the Polar Bear zone and converted on the one-on-goal.
  • Gia Massari broke through midway through the frame with a solo effort off a turnover. The Gulls banked the puck off the right boards but Massari stepped in and turned toward goal for a wrister.
  • Bowdoin clawed back into the game with two goals in the span of three minutes as the final frame ticked toward ten minutes. Luna Lu finished off passing sequence from Meghan Britt and Massari, followed by another Massari goal with helpers from Britt and Bella Mele.
  • Endicott answered, pushing the lead back to two, with a goal at 11:19.
  • Bowdoin pulled the goalie and capitalized on an Endicott penalty to earn a six-on-four in the final two minutes.
