Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women's Hockey Returns To Win Column And Hands Trinity First NESCAC Loss

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team remained perfect in conference play with a 2-1 win at Trinity to begin the series on Friday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are 11-1-0 (4-0-0 NESCAC) hand the Bantams (6-5-0 (4-1-0 NESCAC) their first loss in conference play.
 
Game Highlights
  • Ava Imposimato put Bowdoin ahead 1-0 at 4:47 in the first. Imposimato received a long outlet pass that came from behind the Polar Bear net and skated into Trinity territory before a smooth wrister into the net from the left side.
  • Trinity opened the second period with a goal at 3:37 as Caroline Holm carried the puck around the right circle and back to the top. Holm fired a shot that Gabriela Gross tipped in front to tie the game.
  • Bowdoin answered with a power play goal at 8:09 off Luna Lu's backhander coming in from the left side.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin went 1-for-4 on the power play and held Trinity 0-for-5.
  • Trinity held a narrow 25-24 edge in faceoffs.
  • Sarah Peterson made 27 saves to earn the win.
  • Madeline Carter stopped 21 shots for the Bantams.
