Women's Hockey Suffers First NESCAC Loss At Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin women's hockey team suffered its first shutout of the season in a 2-0 loss at Middlebury on Friday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are 12-2-0 with a 6-1-0 NESCAC record. The top-ranked Panthers climb to 13-1-1 (7-1-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Panthers held a significant 15-3 shot advantage through the first period but entered the first intermission tied 0-0.
  • Middlebury solved Sarah Peterson midway through the second. A screen in front drew Peterson to the center and allowed Kylie Quinlan a quality opportunity from the left point.
  • Middlebury scored on a power play goal four minutes later to double the lead. The puck ping-ponged around in front of the net before Kate Flynn finished the play.
