Continentals Claim 4-1 Win In Watson Arena

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's hockey team dropped a 4-1 game to Hamilton in its return to NESCAC play on Friday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are 5-7-0 with a 3-3-0 NESCAC record. The Continentals sit at 9-3-0 (5-1-0 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • The Continentals broke through at 5:38 in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Hamilton forced a turnover in the Bowdoin zone as Jacob Ierfino poked the puck free and Carson Hall collected it. Hall fired a shot from the middle of the slot to best Jacob Osborne.
  • Hamilton converted on a power play at 14:26 with a series of clean passes that moved Osborne before Luke Tchor finished on the far side.
  • Two minutes later, Bowdoin trailed by three. James Philpott and Grisha Gotovets each got a blade on the puck to push it up to Cameron Miranda at the blue line for a breakaway.
  • Bowdoin found its offensive footing on the power play at 9:18 in the third. Isaac Abbott sent the puck to the low right post for Luke Wheeler who rifled a pass back up to the left point for Gabe Shipper. Shipper sent a one-timer to the top-left corner, making it 3-1.
  • Devon de Vries capped the game with an empty-netter off a turnover in neutral territory in the final minute.
 
By the Numbers
  • Both teams went 1-for-4 on the power play.
  • Osborne made 15 saves in the first period and 28 overall.
  • Bowdoin won the faceoff battle 40-26.
