Rueda Duran Goal Lifts Men's Soccer to 1-1 Tie Against Hamilton

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's soccer team came from behind to earn a 1-1 tie at home against Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears are 4-1-3 on the season with a 1-1-2 NESCAC record. The Continentals are 2-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play.

Game Highlights
  • The Continentals went up 1-0 in the 15th minute. Aedan Burke and Patrick Ferrare set up a give and go at the top of the box. Ferrare received the feed directly in the middle and had a one-on-goal opportunity that he successfully converted.
  • Bowdoin's Alex Ainsworth made three saves to round out the remainder of the half and keep the Polar Bears within striking distance.
  • Felipe Rueda Duran came up with an equalizer ten minutes into the second half. With a pair of defenders on him, Rueda Duran pulled out a spin move to create enough space for a low shot that skidded across the grass and past Hamilton's Finn Wheeler.

  • The Continentals earned six corner kicks and allowed three set pieces for the Polar Bears.
  • Ainsworth made five saves as Wheeler made six.
