Field Hockey Drops Road Game At Bates

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin field hockey team saw its three-game win streak come to an end in a 3-2 setback at Bates on Tuesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are 3-3 with a 1-2 NESCAC record. The Bobcats climb to 4-2 (2-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears fell behind 1-0 as Bates converted on their first corner of the game. Anna Cote scored at 6:23, connecting with a one-timer in the middle.
  • Four minutes into the second quarter, Cote carried along the right side and passed to Brooke Moloney-Kolenberg on the far post. Moloney-Kolenberg swept the cross to find net.
  • Bowdoin broke through just over a minute into the second half. Following a direct shot on the goalie off a penalty corner, Maya Malenfant ran in on the rebound and buried a goal.
  • In the 41st minute of game play, the Bobcats extended their lead again off another corner. Sophie O'Sullivan swept a shot through the five-hole.
  • Emily Ferguson doubled the Polar Bear goal total after a successful penalty stroke three minutes into the last quarter.
