Men's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Stalemate Against Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's soccer team remained unbeaten with its second consecutive shutout in a 0-0 game at Connecticut College.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 3-0-1 on the season with a 1-0-1 NESCAC record. The Camels are still in search of their first conference win at 2-1-1 (0-1-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Camels got off the first three shots of the game, including a shot on net in the 21st minute that required a save from Alex Ainsworth.
  • The Polar Bears did not record a shot until the 29th minute when Felipe Rueda Duran missed off the top left.
  • Shots continued to favor Connecticut as Ainsworth made a save low to the left in the 66th minute.
  • Bowdoin's lone shot on goal came off the foot of Ronaldo Cabral with 18 minutes remaining.
  • In the final ten minutes, the Polar Bears created some sustained offensive pressure with a pair of Tyler Huck shots sandwiching two corner kicks.
 
By the Numbers
  • The Camels recorded twice as many shots as Bowdoin, firing off 12 shots. However, both teams struggled to find the net with only a slight 2-1 edge in shots on goal.
  • Ainsworth made both saves required of him.
