Women's Soccer Cruises to Non-Conference Victory Over Farmington

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's soccer team got its first win of the season in authoritative fashion, defeating the University of Maine-Farmington 7-0 on Tuesday evening at Pickard Field.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 1-1-1 this season while the Beavers drop to 1-2-0.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin did all of its damage in the first 26 minutes of the contest, scoring all seven goals before coasting the rest of the way.
  • Cadence Lee got things started off a feed from Mary Rainey just 36 seconds into the contest for the Polar Bears, before Bowdoin scored three times in a span of 4:17 later in the half.
  • Laila Nickelson, Kyra Hacker, and Kayley Huleatt made it a 4-0 contest by the 17th minute.
  • Rylie McLaren, Dani Musry, and Sofi Rua closed out the scoring with a trio of goals in less than four minutes before the 25:11 mark.

  • Charlotte Iannone (16 minutes) and Ilana Posner (74 minutes) were not forced to make a save in goal for Bowdoin in the combined shutout.
  • Seven different Polar Bears scored in the victory, with Laila Nickelson and Cadence Lee each finishing with a goal and an assist.
  • Paige Gonya made nine saves in goal for UMF.
  • Bowdoin owned a 22-0 edge in shots and 6-0 lead in corner kicks in the contest.
