Softball Set For NESCAC Quarterfinal Friday Against Middlebury

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bowdoin College softball team has earned the seventh seed for the 2024 NESCAC Softball Championship and will play Middlebury in the quarterfinal round of the tournament on Friday afternoon at Tufts University.

The Polar Bears earned a trip to the conference tournament with a 23-15 campaign (7-9 in NESCAC play) and will be making their 14th appearance in the championship bracket. Bowdoin will face the second-seeded Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Friday. A live broadcast of the game will be available courtesy of the Northeast Sports Network.

Day two of the tournament begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 with the remaining two quarterfinal games, and the semifinals are slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 12 at 11 a.m.

Bowdoin will be looking for a measure of revenge after falling 5-2 and 7-0 in the regular-season doubleheader to Middlebury on April 7. Bowdoin won the last postseason meeting between the teams, Game 3 of the 2018 tournament, and is 3-5 against the Panthers all-time in the NESCAC Championship play.
