Women's Tennis Falls to Middlebury and Williams, Nets Sixth Seed for NESCAC's

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team took a pair of close losses to round out their regular season this weekend and will enter the upcoming NESCAC Tournament as the sixth seed in the conference.
 
Weekend Highlights
  • The Polar Bears suffered a 7-2 setback to Middlebury and 5-4 loss to Williams to fall to 9-8 (6-4 NESCAC) this year.
  • Bowdoin was able to take two of three doubles matches against the Panthers, winning at number one from Jamilah Karah/Elizabeth Yu (8-7) and Cara Hung/Zoe Sun (8-4) to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
  • The Polar Bears couldn't muster a win in singles play, as the Panthers took all six spots to earn the win.
  • Bowdoin again carried a 2-1 lead after doubles play as Hung/Sun (8-2) and Hannah Buckhout/Caroline Stuhlfaut (8-5) earned doubles points.
  • In singles play, Bowdoin got straight-set wins from Karah (7-5, 6-3) and Stuhlfaut (6-1, 6-3), but lost four straight-set defeats to fall to the Ephs.

  • Bowdoin will be the sixth seed and play third-seeded Amherst in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Friday, May 3. Match times and locations will be announced early this week.
