Women's Lacrosse Falls to Tufts in Home Finale, Earns Seventh Seed for NESCACs

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team dug an early hole and couldn't recover in a 17-7 loss to Tufts on Wednesday evening. The setback moves Bowdoin to 8-7 (4-6 NESCAC) and gives the Polar Bears the seventh seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. Tufts is the third seed after finishing the regular season 13-2 (8-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Tufts led 11-1 at halftime and scored 12 of the game's first 13 goals in building an insurmountable first half lead.
  • The teams played to a 6-6 draw in the second half and Bowdoin was able to cut the lead to eight goals late in the fourth quarter thanks to a three-goal run from Ellie Schofield.
