Men's Lacrosse Returns to Win Column With Strong Road Win at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team never trailed in a 15-8 win at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon. The ninth-ranked Polar Bears move to 6-2 (4-0 NESCAC) while the 21st-ranked Continentals fall to 5-3 (2-3 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin took a 3-0 lead thanks to first quarter scores from Matt Ward, Sam Raye-Steiner, and Will Byrne before Hamilton charged back with two goals to open the second quarter.
  • Oliver Berstein scored shortly before halftime to increase Bowdoin's lead to 4-2 at intermission.
  • The teams traded goals to open the third quarter, as Bowdoin held a 7-5 edge midway through the frame.
  • Bowdoin used a key four-goal run, bookended by Jason Lach goals, spanning the end of the third and beginning of the fourth to take a commanding 11-5 lead with under 14 minutes remaining.
  • Hamilton got as close as four goals after that, but Bowdoin stemmed the tied with scores from Casey Ryan and Raye-Steiner, and sealed the win with late goals from Lach and Byrne.
