Baseball Rolls Terriers in Midweek Matchup

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team returned home for the first-ever night game at Pickard Field in a 6-1 victory of Thomas College.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 10-4 on the season and drop the Terriers to 4-8.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin capitalized on a four-run second inning to comfortably take the lead and never look back. Cal Thompson got the Polar Bears started with a triple to right center that plated Aidan Carey.
  • Ben McKenzie drove in Thompson with an RBI groundout and Kevin Murray added an RBI single to left. Reuban Siegel drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 4-0.
  • Luke Chessie popped a high ball up to the third baseman, who dropped it, and allowed Chris Dirks to score.
  • Thomas spoiled the shutout with a bang-bang grounder to shortstop that allowed a run to come home.
  • With runners on the corners, Siegel singled to second and drove in Bowdoin's final run.
 
By the Numbers
  • Dirks and Murray both had a pair of hits. CJ Brito-Trinidad went 3-for-4 with a double.
  • Cal Thompson was 1-for-2 with a triple and two stolen bases.
  • Bowdoin batters were hit by five pitches.
  • Bowdoin threw nine pitchers. Hugh Devine and Jason Bogandos each fanned two batters.
