Last Second Goal Lifts Women's Lacrosse Over Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – Emelia Krakora scored a free-position goal with 15 seconds remaining to lift the Bowdoin women's lacrosse team to a 15-14 win over Roger Williams on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 3-3 while the Hawks fall to 1-6 this season.
 
Game Highlights
  • The teams traded goals throughout most of the opening half, before Bowdoin rolled off three goals in the final 3:02 of the second quarter courtesy of Lauren Burke, Ellie Schofield, and Annie Moore.
  • Bowdoin owned a 7-5 lead at the break, and extended their advantage to 8-5 following a Molly Reed goal to open the third quarter.
  • Roger Williams answered with three straight goals to tie the game at 8-8 before Bowdoin used a 4-0 run, sparked by an Anna Kelly goal, to take a 12-8 lead near the end of the third.
  • The Hawks answered again, outscoring Bowdoin 6-2 over a 14-minute span, tying the game with 2:25 remaining at 14-14.
  • Bowdoin won the ensuing draw control and had a pair of free position opportunities in the final minute. Emelia Krakora took advantage of the second of those chances, this one with 15 seconds left in regulation, to seal the win for the Polar Bears.
