HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team couldn't complete a comeback in a 10-8 setback at Trinity in its season opener on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears are 0-1 (0-1 NESCAC) after the loss while Trinity moves to 1-0 (1-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Trinity took a 5-1 lead out of the gate as Molly McGuckin scored three goals in the first quarter of the contest.
• Bowdoin was able to trim the lead to 5-3 following two Sophia Sudano goals to start the second period, but Trinity replied with two goals to regain a four-goal lead at the break, 7-3.
• The Bantams increased their lead to 9-3 out of halftime before a late Polar Bear flurry closed the gap.
• Sudano scored three straight goals to cut the lead to 9-6, and Bowdoin closed the gap to 10-8 late in the fourth, but could get no closer.

• Sophia Sudano scored six goals, had ten ground balls and two caused turnovers for Bowdoin.
• Lauren Burke had a goal and an assist, Auggie Burke had three caused turnovers
• Emelia Krakora had ten draw controls for the Polar Bears while Sophie Brett had five saves in goal.
