Baseball Sweeps Series Against Williams

DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Bowdoin baseball team swept Williams in a non-conference doubleheader in Florida on Sunday. The Polar Bears won the first game 7-3 and the second game 10-3.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 7-4 on the season and the Ephs sit at 1-2. With the series, Bowdoin's senior class has played at least one game against each NESCAC opponent during their career.
 
Game One Highlights
  • Kevin Murray got Bowdoin started with a two-run homer to left in the top of the first.
  • The Polar Bears continued to push their lead with a Chris Dirks RBI double to right in the third and then a four-run output in the fourth.
  • Gabe Peckler and Liam Foley each recorded an RBI single and Murray had a sacrifice fly. Luke Chessie drew a bases loaded walk.
  • Williams finally found their offensive stride in the bottom of the third with a three-run output that was led by a two-run homerun to left.
  • Jason Bogdanos earned the win with four hits allowed and nine strikeouts in six innings of work. Chessie closed out the game, allowing one hit.
 
Game Two Highlights
  • Murray again put Bowdoin on the board in the first, this time with an RBI single. Lukas Tsai added a second run off a single to right.
  • The Ephs tied the game 2-2 in the top of the third, but Bowdoin scored eight more runs in the third and fourth innings to put the game out of reach.
  • Tsai went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
  • Henry Bibeau was 2-for-3 with double, two runs scored, and a pair of RBIs.
  • Luca McKerley Coronado started the game and pitched three innings with three strikeouts and as many hits allowed.
  • Ryan Novitski, Alex Saavedra, Jacob Warren, Jake Sullivan, and Connor Cassady all saw time on the mound.
