BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team couldn't mount a second half rally and lost their home opener to Connecticut College on Saturday, 10-5, at Ryan Field.
 
The Polar Bears fall to 2-3 (0-3 NESCAC) while the Camels improve to 3-2 (1-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• The Camels got off to a quick start, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the opening 12 minutes of the contest.
• Bowdoin closed to within 3-2 following goals by Annie Moore and Lauren Burke early in the second quarter, but the Camels rolled off three straight from late in the second into the third to push their lead to 6-2.
• Bowdoin twice closed to within three goals, at 6-3 and 7-4, but could get no closer than that as the Camels rolled off three straight scores in a two minute span late in the fourth to put the contest out of reach.

By The Numbers

• Annie Moore paced Bowdoin with a hat trick, while Lauren Burke and Anna Kelly also notched goals.
• Kate Coughlin scored a game-high six for the Camels.
• Caroline Clinton made nine saves for Bowdoin, who got two ground balls each from Ellie Schofield, Hannah Gold, and Ellie Fabbro.
• The Polar Bears were victimized by 18 turnovers, however, and Conn College owned a 10-7 advantage in draws, including a 7-1 edge in the fourth period.
