CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team picked up a win over 12^th-ranked Babson, splitting a pair of matches this week as their California trip continues.
 
The Polar Bears (4-2) lost to 17^th-ranked Washington University (6-3) before taking a 6-3 win over the 12^th-ranked Beavers.
 
Match Highlights

• Bowdoin fell behind early, 3-0, against WashU and couldn't manage a rally in singles play despite wins from Cara Hung, Elizabeth Yu, and Julia DeLuca.
• Against Babson, Bowdoin got wins from Cara Hung/Zoe Sun (8-6), and Caroline Stuhlfaut/Hannah Buckhout (8-1) in doubles play to take an early lead.
• Bowdoin's depth was the difference in singles play, getting three-set wins from Julia Ross, Julia DeLuca, and Elizabeth Yu to clinch the win.
• Caroline Stuhlfault earned a straight-set win at number five singles for the Polar Bears.
