Men's Lacrosse Suffers First Setback of Season in Loss at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The sixth-ranked Bowdoin men's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season in a 17-14 setback to Endicott on Wednesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears stand at 3-1 with the loss while the Gulls improve to 5-1.
 
Game Highlights
  • A high-scoring first quarter saw the hosts grab a 5-4 lead and then a stingy defensive second quarter effort led to a 7-5 Endicott edge at the break.
  • The Gulls took control with a three-goal surge to start the third quarter and Bowdoin couldn't recover.
  • Endicott led 12-8 heading into the fourth quarter and Bowdoin made several runs, but could get no closer than three goals as the Gulls held on to the win.

  • A 25-10 edge in faceoffs led to numerous offensive possessions for the Gulls, who owned a 50-46 advantage in shots despite Bowdoin's 18-8 edge in the fourth quarter.
  • Bowdoin was led by four goals and three assists from Jason Lach while Will Byrne had two goals and three assists.
  • Defensively, Robert Hobbs made 14 saves while Nate Ryan and Harp Lane had four caused turnovers each.
