Box Score aMIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team extended their unbeaten streak with a 4-1 win at Wesleyan on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears are 13-4-4 and 9-2-4 in conference play. Bowdoin has not lost a NESCAC game in the second semester. The Cardinals sink to 5-15-1 (3-11-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- The Polar Bears scored a shorthanded goal 4:45 into the first. Coming off a blocked shot at the top of the zone, Mattingly Wierl skated the length of the side a slipped a shot to the right post.
- Wesleyan converted on the power play midway through the second. Daniel Lurie fed the puck into the crease and Jack Marottolo worked the pads and found an opening.
- Wierl had his second of the game at 5:34 with a tip in front of the net off a blast by Isaac Abbott.
- Jesse Lycan and Luke Wheeler each added an empty-net goal in the final minutes.
