BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's ice hockey team posted its best regular season finish since 2013, earning the second seed for the upcoming 2024 NESCAC Championship Tournament.
The Polar Bears (14-6-4, 10-4-4 NESCAC) will host seventh-seeded Middlebury (7-13-4, 5-10-3 NESCAC) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24
th in the quarterfinal round. No tickets are required for admission and the game will be carried live on the
Northeast Sports Network.
Bowdoin, the defending NESCAC Champion, is the No. 2 seed for the first time since 2012 and earned its highest seed since being the number one seed in 2013. The Polar Bears will host a quarterfinal game for the first time since 2016 and went 1-0-1 against the Panthers in the regular season, winning 4-3 in overtime in Brunswick and playing to a 2-2 draw at Middlebury. The quarterfinal marks the first postseason meeting between the teams since the 2014 quarterfinals when the Polar Bears picked up a 6-3 victory. Bowdoin is making its fourth consecutive appearance in the NESCAC Championship and has qualified for 20 of the 24 NESCAC tournaments.
The semifinals and final are set for March 2 and 3 at the highest remaining seed.
