Women's Basketball Completes Perfect Florida Trip With Win Over Emory

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team never trailed, rolling to a 65-49 win over Emory to complete a sweep of Florida contests on Monday afternoon. The Polar Bears move to 10-0 on the season for the first time since the 2019-20 campaign. Emory falls to 6-3 on the year.
 
Game Highlights
  • A pair of early buckets by Sydney Jones sparked a game-opening 8-0 run for the Polar Bears as Bowdoin shot 57% in the opening quarter and 55% overall in the first half to build a 38-30 lead at the break.
  • Four points from Callie Godfrey keyed an 8-2 surge to start the second half that pushed the Polar Bear lead to double digits early in the third quarter.
  • Bowdoin coasted in the fourth quarter, pushing the lead to as many as 22 points down the stretch on their way to the win.
By The Numbers
  • Carly Davey totaled a team-high 17 points while Abbie Quinn poured in 15 for the Polar Bears.
  • Sydney Jones had 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and a steal while Callie Godfrey added ten points and seven rebounds to go with two assists and led the squad with a fourth quarter technical foul for too many players on the court.
  • The Polar Bears finished at 47% shooting for the contest and held Emory to 34% from the field.
  • Bowdoin owned a 40-24 advantage on the glass in the contest.
