Three Point Barrage Lifts Women's Hoops Past Husson

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team knocked down 13 three-pointers en route to an 80-52 win over Husson on Tuesday night.
 
The fifth-ranked Polar Bears improve to 7-0 this season while the Eagles fall to 1-7.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears jumped to a 9-2 lead in the opening minutes and pushed the lead to double figures midway through the first quarter.
  • Bowdoin led 30-14 after the first frame thanks to 66% shooting, and eight points from Carly Davey.
  • The Polar Bears carried a 47-28 advantage into the break and pushed their lead to as many as 32 points in the second half on their way to the win.

  • Carly Davey tied her career high with 21 points, on a perfect shooting night that included 7-7 from the field and 5-5 from three-point range.
  • Three other Polar Bears saw double figures, including Maria Belardi (12), Abbie Quinn (10), and Callie Godfrey (10).
  • Godfrey led Bowdoin with seven rebounds and Belardi had a team-high six assists.
  • Bowdoin finished a scalding 13-25 (52%) from three-point range, coming within two three-pointers of the school record (15) and shot 50% from the field.
  • The Polar Bears held Husson to 30% shooting for the game, and owned a 49-29 edge on the glass.
